My heart holds three secrets
I can give you their shapes
For they all hold space inside me.
You might be tempted to face them directly
But I promise they'd all run away
Dismantle and pretend
You can't see them.
They're shy you see, these secrets
Of mine.
The first takes the shape of a woman
The crescent moon adorned in her hair
The ocean depths traced in her eyes
She is the dream of many
The lover of one
A rising star
At peace with the sun
For as he sets
She rises
The second form is that of a lion
A golden crown on his head
A bronze sword at his feet
My fearless defender
Sworn to protect
The most vulnerable pieces
All spread out before me
As I ride on his back
Facing the fear, insecurity
Third is the last, most tightly kept secret
The one too afraid to be seen
It hides behind foliage deep and dark
In the shadows, but a shadow
The shadow of dreams
Dreams of flying, dreams of loving
Dreams of just being free
It's noiseless, voiceless
Passively hiding indefinitely
So tell me dear reader
What secrets have you?
What shape do they take,
What form do they hold
To enshroud and encapsule
Those things you can't say
The things which words fail
To adequately express
You can never give them justice
And so they just exist
Unspoken?
