The People are Kings

When you give or protect life
You are a King or Queen
Living by the voice inside
That speaks the truth to your mind
Will lead to liberty.
When you love instead of hate
And give not to receive
When you would offer up your life
So that your neighbor could be free,
You create the kind of country
Our Nation yet could be
Where every home’s a kingdom
And every man is king.

The stakes are laid,
The sword is drawn
Who will stand for liberty?
You must choose the path you’ll take,
One of them is slavery
The power you have is to govern yourself
Governments were made to bring peace
Not to destroy the life you could live
Or bring death, depression, disease.
If you want to make a future
Where your children can be free
You must make your home a kingdom
You must make yourself a king.

The world holds its breath
It trembles at what it sees…
A Nation oppressed
A people unwilling to break
The pattern of history…
And yet could we?

When you give or protect life
You become a King or Queen…
And in a true Republic
The people are Kings

America

The light is dark
and shadows play
Like children dancing
in the spring

The day is night
and angels weep
Who watch the world
drift far away

America
you have become
A stranger to
what made you free

Men once were led
to give their lives
Now you destroy
their hope filled dream

She cried a thousand tears
And knew there were still more
Her heart had broken a million times
She wondered if it ever would
Be whole

And then…
She just let go.

Romance doesn’t seem so far
When you can reach it
In your heart
No person
Could ever mend
The pieces of her soul
Only love
For herself,
And for her life

The light inside
Warmed
And her perfect heart
Just gives and gives and gives
Not asking to receive
Not asking to be full
But self-sustained
And overflowed

After feeling so lost and alone
She looks inside and finds
That here, all along
She has
The love she’s looking for
