War

The token in her hands betrayed
The vision in her mind
This is the symbol of my goal
The reason I inspire

Bewilderment or’took the people
All prepared to fight
The fury raging in their hearts
The hatred in their eyes

But is what you claim as freedom
Really worth the price
Of taking from another
His creed, his land, his life?

She cast her eyes about the crowd
Struggling for the words to say
Her plea was not just for peace
But hope for all mankind

The truth is that true freedom lies
Not in the struggle, or the fight
But in the hearts of those who love
And give their will to the Divine

Watching in sorrow she saw
The chaos that they claimed would save
dejected man
A silent tear slipped from her eye
An olive-leaf fell from her hand
